## NoVA (Normverbrauchsabgabe)

NoVA is the Austrian vehicle registration tax paid when a foreign vehicle is first registered in Austria. The formula for 2026: NoVA-Satz (%) = (CO₂ g/km − 102) / 5. For used vehicles, the Achtelung reduces the NoVA by 1/8 per year of age (up to 8 years). Electric vehicles are exempt. NOVORA calculates and pays NoVA on behalf of the customer as part of the import service.
